Secretary Emmanuel Piñol asked the rice industry to take a leap of faith and support the RA 11203 or the Rice Tariffication and Import Liberalization Law during the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) consultation meeting for South Luzon Cluster (CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol) at the Lipa Agriculture Research Station in Batangas on February 27.

“This is a leap faith for us, ito po ay isang talon ng pananampalataya…alam kong may dagok ito sa puso niyo… Pagbigyan muna natin ang batas na ‘to at suportahan ang ating Pangulo,” he asked.

CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO – The initiative of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) to institutionalize its studies on the value chain analysis of commodities produced positive collaboration between the government agencies and other stakeholders in Oriental Mindoro.



MIMAROPA Region obtained an average yield of 4.01MT/hectare for 2018 that increased by 4.6% from 2017 despite the damages brought by three tropical depressions (TD), according to Department of Agriculture-MIMAROPA (DA-MIMAROPA) Rice Program. 

The significant growth was due to its high production which was 1.231 million MT, based on the PSA data. The production boosted by 6.13% or 71, 158 MT from 2017.
