The MiMaRoPa Region bagged two (2) national awards during the Awarding of Outstanding Farmers, Fisherfolk and Coastal Communities (Gawad Saka 2017 and Malinis at Masaganang Karagatan 2017) at Rizal Hall, Malacanang Palace on April 5, 2018.

The Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) under Department of Agriculture (DA) has qualified for three (3) of the four (4) categories of the 2017 Good Practice Award (GPA) of the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).

Each with its own set of criteria, these are the categories for Strategies in Achieving Desired Outcome, Strategies in Resolving Recurrent Issues in Project Implementation, and Best Project Management Office.

The Regulatory Division of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office MiMaRoPa conducted the Training on Cashew Production and Management with emphasis on NSIC variety registration, nursery accreditation & plant material certification at Skylight Hotel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan last April 24-26, 2018. 

The training was participated by the plant nursery owners, Local Government Units, and stakeholders of cashew.

As a special project focusing on agri-fishery sector, the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) ensures its beneficiaries are well-capacitated in the management of its interventions particularly the enterprise subprojects and its day-to-day operations.

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) of the PRDP has various sites nationwide where fisherfolk communities are provided with assistance which will not only help in their livelihood but also in the protection of their marine resources.
