Since the start of 2017, the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) South Luzon Cluster has been gathering the commitment of other government and nongovernment agencies to become partners in implementing the MIMAROPA Region’s commodity investment plans.

The Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (APTC) groundbreaking ceremony held at Barangay Irawan manifests the government support to consolidate its effort to empower farmers and strengthen their trading capabilities for their own produced crops within the City of Puerto Princesa and adjacent municipalities. The said project was funded by the Department of Agriculture-Market Development Assistance thru the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division.The significant event was graced by the City Mayor, Hon. Lucilo R. Bayron (10th from left) along with the City Councilors namely Hon. Victor Oliveros, Hon. Modesto Rodriguez III, Hon. Matthew Mendoza, Hon. Roy Ventura, Hon. Atty. Necesario Awat and Hon. Rolando Amurao. Likewise, witnessing the occasion are Atty. Michelle Acosta, Chief of Staff of Cong. Gil Acosta, Representative, 3rd District of Palawan, Ms. Melissa Macasaet, City Agriculturist, Office of City Agriculture, officers of the Puerto Princesa Agricultural Producers and Marketing Association (PPAPROMA), and the station heads and personnel of the DA-RFO MIMAROPA.

BOAC, MARINDUQUE. The Department of Agriculture (DA) MiMaRoPa thru Agri-Business and Marketing Division (AMAD) headed by Mrs. Nida M. San Juan conducted the 5th Regional Organic Agriculture Congress (ROAC) themed “Organikong Pagsasaka; Todo na!” held at Marinduque Disaster Risk Reduction and Convention Center (MDRRC) on September 26-28, 2017.

In order to strengthen the documentation processes and to establish transparency and accountability in all the projects of Corn Program, Training on Applied Geo-tagging Technology (AGT) for corn AEWs and Engineers, was conducted. It also aims to capacitate field implementers using this modern technology.

Despite the declaration of non-working holiday on September 1, the first interagency convergence meetings for the implementation of the Provincial Commodity Investment Plans (PCIPs) of Oriental Mindoro and Marinduque continued at the Ramada Manila Central.
